Chimney Repairs in Dublin
Repointing, rebuilding, flashing renewal and capping on leaking or damaged chimneys.
Chimneys take more weather than any other part of a roof - exposed on all four sides, with mortar joints, a flaunching bed and a junction with the roof covering that all have to stay watertight.
Damp on a chimney breast is frequently the chimney itself rather than the roof around it. We look at the brickwork, the flaunching, the pots and the flashing as one system.
What the work involves
Repointing and rebuilding
Perished mortar raked out and repointed, or the stack rebuilt above roof level where brickwork has failed.
Lead flashing renewal
Proper stepped lead flashing and apron details replacing cracked cement fillets.
Flaunching and pots
Cracked flaunching renewed and pots re-bedded, cowled or capped as needed.
Capping and removal
Disused stacks capped and vented, or taken down below roof level and the roof made good.
