Slate Roofing & Slate Roof Repairs in Dublin
Natural and fibre cement slate work on period houses, terraces and modern builds.
Dublin's older housing stock is full of slate: Victorian and Edwardian terraces, red brick semis and cottages across Rathmines, Drumcondra, Phibsborough and beyond. Slate lasts generations, but the nails holding it often do not.
We repair, re-hang and re-slate roofs, and we reuse sound existing slate where it makes sense on a period property so the roof keeps its character.
What the work involves
Nail sickness and slipped slates
Where fixings have corroded, slates slide even though the slate itself is perfect. We re-fix or re-slate the affected areas.
Period-appropriate detailing
Lead valleys, secret gutters and slate-and-a-half courses handled the way the roof was originally built.
Reclaimed and matched slate
Salvaged or matched slate used on repairs so patches do not stand out from the street.
Fibre cement alternatives
Where budget or structure rules out natural slate, fibre cement slates give a similar look at lower weight and cost.
