Ridge Tile Repairs & Dry Ridge in Dublin
Loose or missing ridge tiles re-bedded, re-pointed or upgraded to a mechanically fixed dry ridge.
The ridge is the most wind-exposed line on a pitched roof. Where ridge tiles are bedded on mortar alone, decades of movement and frost eventually break the bond and the tiles start to rock.
A loose ridge tile is a genuine safety issue as well as a leak risk, particularly over a footpath, driveway or entrance.
What the work involves
Re-bedding and repointing
Tiles lifted, cleaned and re-bedded in fresh mortar where the traditional finish is being kept.
Dry ridge upgrade
Mechanically fixed ridge system with ventilated union - no mortar to crack, and ventilation at the ridge as a bonus.
Hips as well as ridges
Hip tiles and hip irons checked and refixed, since they fail the same way.
Made safe immediately
Any tile at risk of falling is removed or secured on the first visit.
